\"\"Inspired by a random video (see it at the bottom of this post) I saw on Facebook of Steve Harvey sharing about the secret of using gratitude, I told my personal journey of the past several months. More than a week later. that same post was still garnering comments and reactions, so I felt compelled to share it here, too. This is what I wrote:<\/p>\n

My closest friends know at the end of last year, continuing through to the first couple of months of this year I went through a dark and depressed time with my work. After nearly 13 years of entrepreneurship, I quit it all. Stopped working. Full stop. Wrote a resume. Started looking for a job (gasp).<\/p>\n

Through that process, I realized my unique skill set, professional experiences, and the way I have structured my life created a situation where it was very challenging to find any single \u201cjob\u201d where I felt I could live and work in my own genius and be paid a salary in line with what I could bring to the table.<\/span><\/p>\n

So I had to dig myself out of that deep hole and create a new business. Prayer and gratitude were a huge part of that for me. I pulled out my own Daily Business Meeting with God Journal<\/a> and started again.<\/p>\n

But this time I started differently. I thought about all the things I was doing and how I want to spend my days – and what I didn\u2019t want to do anymore. Life is not a dress rehearsal… this is it.<\/p>\n

So I did exactly what Steve Harvey shares here. I made that long, long list of all the amazing people and blessings I have in my life. And then I made a list of what I want in my life. I worked with a dear friend closely on changing some long-held, deeply rooted limiting beliefs and destructive patterns.<\/p>\n

If you would have told me 5 months ago my work would be completely transformed into what it is today, I wouldn\u2019t have believed you.<\/p>\n

I went from what felt like a never-ending treadmill of product creation, affiliate promotions, email launches, endless sales pages, and constant \u201cscurrying,\u201d to the ease, grace, and joy of working with only a very few high-level clients doing intensive work with them. That has freed up my mind to unleash my creativity again and I\u2019m now writing and ideas are flowing.<\/p>\n

My speaking is different, too. I\u2019ve always hit the stage with confidence and was well-received, but this most recent time, I had different, more powerful testimonials. Two weeks later, two different people stood up in a different room each proclaiming how my talk helped and impacted them… I was amazed.<\/p>\n

I knew someday I\u2019d share this personal story. I didn\u2019t know when I woke up this morning today would be the day until I saw this video<\/a>. So I\u2019ll end with the wise words from this surprising source:<\/p>\n
